June 2023 News and Prayer Update

This month was the CAP Whitehaven Annual Partnership Meeting to review a phenomenal year helping clients and plan ahead. We’ve had coverage in local publications and connected with local charities and organisations who then refer people to us, and visa versa. Underpinning everything we do is prayer. We now have 56 people receiving the monthly prayer note and a regular core attending the zoom prayer meeting. Giving is down so we’ll be applying for funding but our faith is in God to enable us to continue our services.

Thanks:

Managing money has never been harder. CAP helps people learn how and gain confidence. Pat Smith is happy to come to your church to run money management courses - now in little modules - for anyone who would like to improve their money-management skills. Dates and times would be flexible to suit those who want to attend. We give thanks that CAP Whitehaven provides this service for anyone (clients or not).

News:

The befriender role is key to CAP’s work in supporting our clients and sharing the gospel with them. There’s a event to find out more about this voluntary evangelistic role on 30th June, 10am – 2pm at St John’s. If you’d consider being a befriender, speak to your minister or CAP rep and come to the event.

Prayers:

We pray that people struggling with debt will remember CAP and turn to us for help.
