August news and prayer update

Thanks:

We give thanks to God for the wonderful service of Jon and Pauline Campbell as they
step down from Woodbank. They were involved with CAP long before we ever
thought of having a Debt Centre for Whitehaven. Once it was proposed, they were
right there with their support, energy and enthusiasm. We ask God to bless their
retirement.

News:

The theme for this year’s CAP Sunday is My Cup Overflows and echoes Jesus’
teachings in Luke 14. More details nearer the time.

Prayer:

There is a pause in taking new clients. Please pray for our Debt Centre Manager
Jonathan and his wife Iris who he is taking some time out to care for during her

July news and prayer update

Thanks:

We give thanks for our wonderful befrienders, for the invaluable companionship and support they give to our clients.

News:

We are recruiting a second Debt Coach to work with clients and support Jonathan, our Debt Centre Manager. Much great work is done by our team of volunteers but this is a part time (8 hours per week), paid role. It’s evangelistic as well as helping people directly with their financial situations. If anyone is interested, please contact Fergus Pearson by the end of July.

Also -

For anyone who wants to learn how to manage their money, CAP has a super course called CAP Money with little videos and tools and you get a booklet. Our CAP Money Coach, Pat, is running it next on Friday 16th July, 10:30am – at the Cornerstone Christian Bookshop. Contact Pat by email if you’d like to go, k500pat@hotmail.com

For Prayer:

Please pray for the new Debt Coaches we have in the North-West as they support clients with great challenges.

Many thanks and God bless Jackie

June news and prayer update

Thanks

We thank God for enabling Phill Mayhew in the prayer coordinator role. It’s God’s work that we do so prayer underpins everything and is of fundamental importance. Let us know if anyone would like to join our monthly prayer meeting by Zoom or receive the prayer letter to pray for our work at home.

For Prayer

Please pray for resilience for our clients. It can be a long, tough process to deal with debts and many of our clients are also experiencing other difficult situations in their lives.

May news and prayer updates

Thanks

We thank God that we have two new clients. This is a real answer to prayer.

News

Some CAP centres around the country have sadly closed with the difficulties of the last year. The regional co-ordinator finds the many ways we are still supporting our clients inspirational – the latest is a book club. All your prayers, giving and involvement have contributed to this and it's wonderful.

For Prayer

Please pray for safety and confidence for clients, Jonathan and befrienders as we return to face-to-face contact.

Also please pray that God will move people with compassion to become new befrienders.
